Iran is escalating relations with Ukraine

The acting Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Andrey Sibiza, had a phone conversation with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi. During the conversation, Kyiv stated that it does not wish to escalate relations with Iran. This conversation occurred a few days after Iran accused Ukraine of an attack on a trade vessel in the Caspian Sea. Iran is demanding compensation for the damage caused by Ukraine. Ukraine is clearly expressing its position. This situation may further complicate relations between the two countries.
