As a result of employers' non-compliance with minimum wage requirements, workers, social security funds, and tax authorities in Germany have suffered nearly 64 billion euros in losses since 2015. This was reported based on an analysis by the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) on August 10. Issues concerning the protection of workers and their rights have remained a serious problem in the country. The non-payment of minimum wage has further increased social injustice in society. Trade unions are calling attention to this issue, urging for the protection of workers' rights.
