It has been announced that Uzbekistan's economy grew by 8.5 percent in the first half of the year. The economic growth forecast for 2026 has been revised, now expecting an 8.1 percent growth instead of the 6.6 percent initially projected at the beginning of the year. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the necessity of a 9-10 percent growth to improve the lives of the 40 million population. He also noted that if the work of each minister and governor is not felt in people's lives and does not alleviate the burdens of entrepreneurs, such results will remain mere "numbers on paper."
