Uzbekistan's first national nomination has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. This is the first nomination to achieve such a status for the country in the last 25 years. It is Uzbekistan's sixth cultural site on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is considered the first example of 20th-century modernist architecture in Central Asia and the CIS countries. This event further affirms the global significance of Uzbekistan's culture. Being included in the UNESCO list strengthens the efforts aimed at preserving and promoting the cultural heritage in the country.
