The number of students in Uzbekistan exceeds 1.5 million

At the beginning of the 2025-2026 academic year, the number of students enrolled in higher education institutions in Uzbekistan reached 1 million 535 thousand. This figure shows an increase of nearly 4.6 times compared to the 1991-1992 academic year. Furthermore, the coverage of higher education has significantly expanded over the past 35 years. The growth in Uzbekistan's higher education system is further broadening the educational opportunities for the younger generation. The expansion is also expected to enhance the country's competitiveness in the global education arena.
