In the first half of 2026, the volume of international money transfers to Uzbekistan amounted to 9.3 billion dollars, of which 2.4 billion dollars were carried out through the "Golden Crown" system. The European Union's sanctions package against Russia includes this payment system operator and clearing center. According to Otabek Tojiddinov, director of the Central Bank department, the restoration of these transfers to Uzbekistan may happen next week. This news will help further expand international financial flows in the country.
