1% tax cashback may be abolished

The 1% cashback practice payable to individuals who register purchase receipts in Uzbekistan may be discontinued. According to calculations made by the Fiscal Analysis Institute under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, if the cashback continues, government budget expenditures are projected to reach 1.8 trillion soums this year. This amount is twice as much as the allocated funds for the construction of kindergartens. Additionally, a proposal has been made to introduce a state lottery instead of the cashback.
