Reduced Tariffs for Electricity May Be Introduced in Areas Without Gas Supply

On July 27, during a video selector meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev regarding the future priorities in the fuel and energy sector, officials were tasked with calculating the infrastructure and additional electricity requirements for heating systems in areas where natural gas delivery is challenging. This, in turn, indicates the possibility of introducing reduced electricity rates in regions experiencing problems with gas supply. The government is continuing work on this issue, and concrete proposals are expected to be announced in the near future.
