The Authority to Set Drinking Water Prices by Governors Will Be Transferred to the Government

Starting from 2027, the authority to approve drinking water and sewage tariffs by regional administrations will be transferred to the Interdepartmental Tariff Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers. This was established by a presidential decree. Special approaches will be introduced for areas where centralized drinking water supply is considered economically unfeasible in some regions of Uzbekistan. Methods such as providing water through special technical facilities and organizing branches are planned to be implemented. These changes are being made to improve the quality of drinking water and sewage services.
