Italy Temporarily Suspends Schengen Arrangements with Spain

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez described the massive influx of illegal migrants into the Spanish exclave of Ceuta, located in northern Africa, as an attack on the territorial integrity of the country. According to him, most of the tens of thousands of migrants who entered the region in recent days have been returned to Morocco. As a result, Spain and Italy have decided to temporarily suspend Schengen arrangements. This decision was made in light of the increased flow of migrants. The Spanish government stated that it is taking the issue of migrants seriously and is aiming to ensure regional security.
