Corruption-related crimes may increase in 2025 in education, healthcare, and local governance

Last year, in 2022, 7,517 individuals were held criminally responsible for corruption-related crimes in the Republic of Uzbekistan. These crimes caused damage amounting to more than 2.9 trillion som to state interests. Education, healthcare, and local governance are the areas where corruption cases are most frequently observed. The fight against corruption has been designated as one of the top priorities of the state. The government of Uzbekistan continues to develop strict measures to address this issue.
